now that MOO3 is bombing, could the ship date of Galciv be moved up a week or two?

Brad,

GC went gold this morning. Right? So the only problems now are getting the code and document text to Strategy First for mastering and reproduction. Right? And Strategy First has to be hurting right about now, so they would benefit by shifting focus to a good game. Right? And it would show that GC really was ready to go out on Feb 26. Right? If SD and SF got their heads together quickly, it should be doable. Right?

The brass ring is coming around **NOW**.

Nice thought, but probably not possible. Waiting is terrible, tons of thousands of people waiting very, very long for MOO3, and lots of them seem very disappointed (we in Holland are still waiting for the game to arrive, scheduled as in the UK for March 7). Although apparently we have to wait some more weeks for Galciv Final, it seems not likely 4X lovers will be disappointed again. Disappointment is terrible, specially when you wait a long time for the game to be released, and the commercials too often disappoint you, even if the release date is several times pushed way in the future.

I actually imported MOO3 from the US (on pre-order) since I live in the UK. The phrase "insult to injury" comes to mind.

Seems a bit harsh since a fair amount of us drengin.net users have been waiting an aweful long time for GalCiv to artificially delay it for another month. Don't get me wrong, playing the betas has been good... and it's no doubt made a better game.

Intially I thought it was a good idea, but now on reflection it seems they were just trying to maximise sales of Moo3 before the word of mouth destroyed them and everyone has to buy GalCiv to get a decent game instead. Ha ha just look at the contents of the box LOL

Oh well, maybe i'll have to find something more important to do with my time than play 4X games ;)
