Ships fire after being destroyed

It is incredibly frustrating seeing a ship you've destroyed and watched blow up and disappear fire from empty space to destroy your ships. Next time anyone goes into a battle watch the scrolling combat text and then watch the screen and you'll see that they don't coincide.

If a ship is destroyed, that should be the end of it, it shouldn't fire even in the process of blowing up.

If anyone has the same problem please post.

It's WAI. Originally, ships fired in turns. Which meant the alpha strike was so overpowered as to be insane. Fast, hardhitting ships with 0 defence could rule the galaxy with ease.

Now ships WILL fire in one turn, whether they die at the end of it or not. And no, it won't be changed.

Yep, it works like it's supposed to. The original system was *much* worse, believe me!

Remember the viewer is just for show. Realistically (as if that matters!) those ships wouldn't have been waiting in line to fire - they'd have cracked off a shot even as the incoming volley that kills them is approaching.

Although I agree that the current system is much better than the old one, I must say I'm surprised to see such consensus on this issue. I remember that a few months back, people were saying the "fire in turns" system was fine and telling anyone who disagreed to sit down and shut up. I guess the results of the midterm election have opened minds here, too.

what would be nice to see (in DA I guess), would be ships firing visually in the time slot that they actually fire in. Ie, ships on both sides firing when they are supposed to, rather than the side-turn taking that ends up with the weird visuals (after death firing etc).

Battle viewer and battles are much better in Dark Avatar. Not only the combat system has gotten an over haul for the better (in my mind) but also the visuals are much better.
