I don't have any problems accepting scripture. I do have a problem with you assuming you are wise and worthy to teach the word of God.
It may be one of your spiritual gifts but since you haven't taken the time to get to know people here, no one would know that. We've not had a chance to see your fruit. We only have your word that your "wise" in the word of God.
And isn't that exactly what a false teacher would say to a room full of people he doesn't know? And how could they dispute him since they DON'T KNOW HIM? At least until he starts telling them how wise he is in the Word and how they should accept what He says because He is so much wiser than they.
Evangelism works best when carried in love. Love takes a little time to cultivate. If its seeds your looking to plant.....
IF its not, preach on!
but in my experience I have found that the great majority do not seek answers where they may readily find them,
Barring Tova you're all the same person aren't you? The writing style is the same anyway. So why bother addressing Sons/Candy/Orions by name?
Is that you, Tova?
Barring Tova you're all the same person aren't you?
That would be an excitingly split personality
Yes the webs we could weave!
My Bible has 1979 pages of scripture in it and I've read every one of those pages, and every time I read them again I find something new or forgotten. I welcome the aid of the stranger as well as the friend.
I agree for the most part...but aren't we told to "Test Everything?" I can not in good conscience just "accept" someone's teaching on the Word unless I know them......don't even false teachers sound scriptural? And one of the ways to know them is by their fruit. How can you judge fruit you don't see, or in the case of JU, learn from responses?
Even more so for an unbeliever who doesn't CARE what the Bible says. One who is concerned about earthly matters....shouldn't we meet them where they are? Physical needs first.....not just throw scripture at them. I've been hungry and homeless (as a child) and no amount of WORDS would fill my belly. And that is the only thing I could think about..
And now this has all been born out....when SOT said on another thread church is unnecessary. Hmmm. Funny that.
