Serial number or the machine SID don't match?

Hi,

I have just installed and updated Galciv to the latest version. I have registered and entered my cd key into the game and the website. However I am getting the following error : The product appears to be validated but the serial number or the machine SID don't match. This happens as soon and you execute the game.

Perhaps I entered the cdkey incorrectly somewhere. If so, where on the website can I check if its correct?

That error message just means that something must have changed in your system's configuration since you last activated, or you moved GC2 to another computer. All you need to do is delete the file sig.bin in C;\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2, run the game, and reactivate.

Uninstalling should've removed this file, right? I guess if I had deleted the folder after removing the program that would've fixed it as well.

I did a format of my HD (but had GC:II installed on a 2nd hard drive). Thanks for posting the answer! It's up and running again.
