Problem Installing

Hello, I recently bought Galactic Civilizations: Dread Lords.
I put the first disk into the disk drive to install it. The first time the disk didn't even spin so I removed it and tried again, the second time it did spin and the install screen came up. I immediately clicked Install and waited.
After awhile I realized nothing was happening, the disk would periodically spin and then stop, and then repeat. The Install screen was still up. I would click close and it would then tell me that the program was not responding.
I don't know whats going on with it, any help would be great, I'm fairly sure that my computer is capable of running it. I have all the reccomended hardware, not the minimal requirements. Any help would be great, thank you.
