Changing Resolution

Can someone tell me how to change the game resolution without entering the game? I set it higher than my video card can handle

Since I'm thinking about it: I upgraded video cards because the galactic screen slows down when I view largish fleets. It didn't work. Any suggestions?

Go to My Documents/My Games/GalCiv2 and open prefs.ini. There should be a line near the top for width and height.
