Cant create new game

from GalCiv2 Forums
I can go the first screen of GC2 and when I choose to make a new game I go to the next screen with the universe data..when I click next the game errors out and makes a report I presume. Strangly, I can load old games and play them, though I havent tried Ctrl N on one of those to see if that would work. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Ok even stranger now..when I do try to run as above with 1.2(havent any issues at all before this) it makes some type of program in my C drive called program. Then i usually get a warning about this and asked to rename it or such..happens every single time i try to run the game. That sound like a virus to anyone perhaps or did GC2 just go bonkers!?

Ok this is way crazy now..I went ahead and just removed the game completly and reinstalled and it and still I still have the same problem. Sigh..anyone have any other ideas at all or im I just SOL?

Also one final tid bit..can run a campaign or save game no problem..but to make a new sandbox mode errors out as above. Its just Crazy..after totally reinstalling..checking my drivers and more..I still can find no solution.

Somehow I got it to work...I tried starting a new campaign, which worked..played for a few mintues..then exited out to check and see if I could make a new sandbox and woila..it worked!? LOL I have no idea how this could have fixed it in anyway...but GC2 now works..although very very buggs..im still using 1.2 and now get random crashes where as before all this I had never once crashed out. Guess Im due!

Thanks Carielf, but for some reason Im up and running again..might be the complete 2 reinstalls I did lol. Also I did have smart exception and sent it to you..you thought there might be some mods trouble i believe!
