Not jumping to any "premature" conclutions(sp?) but perhaps this?

Otherwise, post your system info from the WB config here.

If you had the trial version and did not uninstall it before installing the enhanced version, that will cause issues.

Saw your other post, Xp visual styles; StyleXP to apply them? If so it is still installed, if so you do know it hacks your system, that may be causing your WB issues.

i do not have a cracked version. heres my system info:

WindowBlinds 5.0 System Information Report:

STATUS : WB+ SRV+ HLP+ UI+ TRAY+

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC.

WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC

Your machine does not support per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins.

This is because :

Your computer graphics hardware does not support acceleration of per pixel alpha. WindowBlinds requires this for per pixel alphablended borders as without it performance would be poor. Please see if you can obtain new drivers for your graphics hardware. Recent ATI & NVIDIA boards should support this feature. Onboard graphics tend not to.

You have one monitor in total.

(Plug and Play Monitor) 1 is attached to NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200

Have you tried check either or both of the boxes under the system info? And do you still have StyleXP installed?

I have been having the EXACT same problem! I thought it was just me and that I was going crazy or something.

It just started happening one day out of the blue and I wasn't sure what the problem was. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't, but it usually happens after I install a new skin and browse through the list to find it.

Have you tried updating WB?
According to SDC it should be updated. The tray icon says WB 5 (5.01 (build 62 x86). It's more of an annoyance than anything else, I just hope it's not covering up a larger underlying problem.

i have stylexp still installed.
but i do not think that would have anything to do with it.

in windowblinds i go to another page(like system info)and i get the contents of the last page in the back. and the same in sdc. the panel which gives the discription is floting and the names of the programs are on top.

Bebi,

The latest build is (build 73 x86) dated 2006/7/14 and can be found in SDC by adding a check mark to "Show pre-release versions".

Thry this one out to see if your issues are resolved.

You need to uninstall Style/Xp they do play well together.i had both installed together at one point and style/xp caused all kinds of problems WB's untill i uninstalled it.PS make sure you run a program like CCleaner [it's free]to get rid of all the registry inconsistensies that style/xp will leave behind  You must remember that WB's is working with altered files right now because of Style/xp and it's not made to;it's made to work with the original MS file's     hope that helps because my WB's worked great after i uninstalled Style/xp

could i reinstall stylexp later?

That should have been the first thing you tried...... before you started this thread....

well i uninstalled stylexp. then i restarted. i did not think stylexp would be a problem.

So actually it was uninstalling StyleXP that fixed the problem and not just re-starting your computer. Would help others to get the "whole" story and not just bits and pieces.
I've never had stylexp installed. *shrug* But like I said, I'm not going to lose sleep over a slight issue like this one. Everything else seems to be working fine (concerning WB anyway, everything else is another story).
hmmm... in May you said you weren't gonna use WB anymore. You were also cautioned about using WB and StyleXP on that same post.

Did you update WB, though. It should be...5.01(73x86)

It will definitely cause you problems.

Windowblinds is a legitimate program designed specifically to function with a Genuine Windows install.

StyleXP patches/loads a modified library dll that is NOT specifically approved/endorsed by the OS Manufacturer and thus has the potential to mess with anything/everything a user then tries to do.

It is arguably as sensible as running a cracked ver of WinXP and then scratching your head in confusion when SP2, etc spits a dummy claiming the OS install is not 'valid'.

Every time you alter required system files you MUST expect a potential for conflicts and/or failures.

If you now have Windowblinds installed...stick with that.  It's developer [Stardock] is a Microsoft 'Partner' and thus approaches the process of GUI design/alteration/adoption in a properly approved fashion...
