Game does not start after update to v1.2 and activation

My game was running fine until yesterday when I updated to v1.2 and activated it by e-mail (i placed the sig.bin in my game directory). But now there is just no reaction if I try to start the game with my GalCiv2.exe - no blank screen - no artifacts - no hourglass - nothing, just my desktop. Worst of all, my debug.err is completely empty:

If I try to start it via the command prompt, it just looks like this:

c:\..\..\galciv2.exe [enter]
[empty line]
c:\..\..\

Any ideas?

Very odd--all I can think is that something got corrupted during the update. You might try a full uninstall/reinstall, but beyond that you'll need to wait for the devs to get back on Monday.
