Game doesnt seem to run in 16 bit color depth, try 32 bit if you havnt already. Hope this helps.

And it looks like you have 256MB of ram and a 400MB or so swap file.
That is not nearly enough to run this game. At the very least, up your swap file to 2GB (make it static by setting both initial and max sizes to 2048MB), and try to add at least another 256MB of ram.

Your audio drivers are pretty old as well, you should try to find newer ones.

And update the game to 1.2, there have been many memory tweaks since version 1.0.

This may also be a factor, if those things don't work: Languages: Portuguese (Regional Setting: Portuguese)

I've got the same issue. I already know I need to update my drivers and plan on doing that when I get the tech person in the household here. But, anything else I need to do? Note that I tried it at two display levels before checking here and finding the driver issue...

Amensotep: The game is trying to use your onboard graphics, not your video card. You should go into your motherboard's BIOS at boot and diable the onboard video. That should do the trick, though you may have other issues once you get the game to work because the GeForce4 MX series is not truly DirectX 9 compatible (one of the system requirements is a DX9 video card). The drivers for the GeForce are also quite old as you have noticed yourself, so you'll need to update those as well.

Great... Looks like a new graphics card is on the list for a future date. In the meantime, I'll deal. I've managed to run DirectX 9 on it so far without problems.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks guys...
I know my machine is an old one... but it matches the minimal system requirements, so ... i know there is something to do
Thanks especially to yams0310, because I haven´t noticed that i was running in 16 bits... and when I change to 32 bits, THE GAME WORKSSSSSSSSSS
and very well by the way...
THANKSSS
