Ultra Powerful ships

Big Bug?

Hello, Im running the game at normal diffuculty and dominating all major races in the galaxy. But the Carinoids (did i spell that right?) somehow managed to produce ships that have lvl 0 but still carry 300 units of GUN weaponry and 150 GUN defence.
Nothing that i produce can take these suckers out, one ship can take out a fleet of capital ships without taking a scratch. It also says that they have a 300% bous to soldiering and a 150% bonus to hitpoints and so on. This cannot be possible right? This gotta be a bug, how do i swat it?

PS. Ive checked all the map for military resource bases but none of them belong to the Carinoids. This bug is something that is quite frquent on my computer when playing against minor races, since the patch 1.2 was released that is... I hope you can help! Greetz Agronak.

Did they get the precurser discovery bonus? That would boost thier stats by 1% every turn, and if you let them go long enough, they could proberbly be producing ships like that. I suggest you either make an alliance, or buy thier ships from them.

sounds like they got the precursor artifact.

or they have lots of bonus stuff.

if a race has high luck tehy have more chances of getting these artifacts, tehy all have extremly good effects, like crazy bonus, give 700% reserch on all planet tiles for 1 planet, make all planets in a sector go from PQ0 to PQ8, give you 1 point in all stats everyturn, get a bunch of free ships and so on.

I actually have a ship that could defeat that ship, I called it the Dreadnought II and you can only get the core Dreadnought after doing a lot of research, I have been able to field a fleet of six Dreadnoughts against the enemy and wiped them out completely.

The Carinoids are a minor race. Minor races start with absurd racial bonuses, probably to keep them around longer than a turn or two. For example, the game I'm playing now has the Paulos in it. I'm at "relative lack of diplomacy compared to theirs hinders our negotiations" or somesuch, despite that I have the highest diplomacy possible for a player race. And if that's not impressive, they also have +90% to Weapons and Defenses and +410 Soldiering as base racial bonus! (For comparison, the best player Soldiering possible is +150.)

Well, pretty weird with that 1% stat increase per turn, ive never encountered it anythwere in the game before so im amazed. Still, now i have to start all over again, the race owned every race in the entire game (including me with my super fleets). I had to ally myself with most of the major civs, still didnt work though. Oh well, back to the drawing board...
