I/O error during install

Hello. I downloaded both Stardock and the patch. Upon installation attempts, I get an I/O error/abort message on both. I have re-installed game, re-downloaded both Stardock and the patch. Same problem. What gives?

I've only seen that during CD installations. If you're getting it from Stardock, I have no idea.

Just abit confused on the wording. Did you try a straight install from online, without using the cds?

And the error occures doing the installation process not during the start, but when the files are being written

Clarification. After installing from CD. CD install is fine. Started a game. Then downloaded the patch and also got the same thing after downloading the install for Stardock. I'll remove and do a install from online, then the two downloaded files again.
