Well I finally got my ROMS to show up in 'My Computer' and work okay, but still no luck with my soundcard or HP 3-in-one. Have sent off reports to MS with the relevant log entries and files, etc, so hopefully they'll find an answer for the release candidate, full version. I suppose that's all we can do for now...continue to send feedback and error reports. Still, Vista is an exciting OS and I'm confident MS will iron out the bugs over time, with beta testers assistance, that is. Seems to me, MS is bending over backwards to assist with issues...so far I've received 11 emails from MS (Oz and US) to enquire about the problems I'm experiencing, offering assistance wherever possible.

"I could not get wb 5 to work on vista any ideas?"

Not yet, coffeeman....there is a WB in the works for Vista but its not finalised as yet, to the best of my knowledge. Probably will be by the time of Vista's final release.

It's said that stranger things happen at sea, but I don't know about that....

After several attempts to install my SoundBlaster Live soundcard on Vista and giving up cos nothing worked, I turn my puter on today and suddenly I've got sounds/music, without having done anything about it in days. Microsoft must be listening, endeavouring to resolve issues contained in feedback/error reports...I checked my update history and noticed an inclusion for SoundBlaster Live WDM drivers late yesterday...and now it works like a charm.

Those Windows Updates are quiet, I can say that much.

bmwchubb: The Vista betas are now availible for the public to download through the CPP. There is a limited number, but there is still space. And some here are MSDN subscribers so they get the builds through that as well.
If you'd just bothered to click the link which the very first post links you, you'd have seen that.

Microsoft has announced that most of the failed installation of Vista was due to faulty buring of the DVD. http://www.longhornblogs.com/robert/archive/2006/07/08/16417.aspx
