support after release of the game

I just heard that one have to pay again after buying the price of the game in order to get the additions? Is this true?

I had not heard this. I suspect someone is trying to scare you off GalCiv. It would be interesting to know what your source is.

All we have heard is that everyone will get full support and upgrades until March 25, 2004 (or GalCiv version 2.0, which ever comes first). And Brad has already said that he has a year budgetted for Galciv after it is released, with funds coming from other Stardock operations.

What you might be talking about is the Dregin Network which like Object Desktop, has a yearly subscription fee. But for that Fee you get everything that is released during that year. Dregin handles all of Stardocks Games and Object Desktop handles all of Stardocks Applications. In my own humble opinion they are both worth every penney.
