Cannot Connect to any secondary machines

WHERE IS A FIX?

I have been trying to get trial versions of Multiplicity to work since 1.02...

I have read the numerous posts about not being able to connect. But I have yet to see any kind of solutions.

I have tried with:
[Primary] Home (wired) Computer A
[Secondary] Home (wired) Computer B
and
[Primary] Home (wired) Computer A
[Secondary] Home (wifi and wired) Laptop Computer A
and
[Primary] Work (wired) Computer A
[Secondary] Work (wifi and wired) Laptop Computer A

I have tried disabling all extraneous applications, shared clipboards...

And I can telnet to the the remote ports of each computer to see "MULTIPLICITYP". The connections can be made...

The results that I get:
1.02 : The primary host application unloads completely when the most reaches the edge of the computer.
1.05 : The mouse locks up for 5 seconds when the mouse reaches the edge of the screen until the application figures out what happens and I get control back again.

I have tried changing pretty much every setting in the application. I can't do anything more... I need help.

Same experiance here and I bet Carl[c242] could chime in too. I have to believe that Neil is working on it because he's a stand-up guy.

Yes. I guess we will just have to wait a little.

The 1.02 trial you had expired back in december which is why it closes when you reach the edge of the screen.  The web team incorrectly adjusted the website to point to the wrong build a while ago which is how you managed to download it.

It seems some people are having problems with 1.05 and we are looking into why this is.  I have been using 1.05 for some time without problems, so I suspect its something the installer is doing (or not doing) thats causing the problem.

Zubaz, Carl : Did you have any problems with the 1.04/5 betas?

DigiChaos: What does the troubleshooting option on the secondary machine say? (right click MP system tray icon)

As a test, could one of you delete mpvista.exe from your secondary PC MP directory and reboot and see if that helps or not.

Winlogon failed with 1.04 and the boot order was critical in getting a connection. {secondary had to boot after the primary}
Stopped the MP services and renames the MPVista and MPVista32 exe and restarted.

The mouse still gets lost when moving to secondary and running the secondary troubleshooter releases it.

Thanks Neil.

I had run the troubleshooter on both the primary and secondary machines. But now that I run the troubleshooter on the secondary machine I am seeing that:
1) Multiplicity Winlogon dll is NOT running
2) Winlogon dll has FAILED testing

Do any of you use WB4?

Also does your pc auto logon at boot, and are you using the welcome screen or domain login?

Not using wb4; WB5
Primary at Home uses Welcome, secondary uses Domain login. Domain is only active at work though, at home it's using the domain login to access locally.

Just a heads up... Somehow, I got it working.

1) I unloaded the application
2) I used task manager to end multiplicity processes that were still running. MpVista.exe was loaded up 5 times, MultiSrv32.exe stayed loaded after unload.
3) Reloaded Multiplicity
4) Did troubleshoot again (all green)
5) Worked...

I will try to troubleshoot some more to see if maybe I ended something else that was causing the issue.

After spending a couple hours trying to troubleshoot this... I have NOT been able to get Multiplicity to work again.

One time, after an initial boot and login, I logged out and logged back in to get the troubleshooter to ONLY say "Winlogon dll has FAILED testing". But thats about it... I cant replicate that either.

So needless to say, I have no clue what made it work. And no clue how to get it working again.

We have a theory about the problem and the builds should be updated this week.
