Brand new high-speed puppy...

...and just watch this puppy go!

I'm finally up and running with my new PC. Athlon 64 4400+, Gb RAM, Asus A8N-SLi, GeForce 7600GT etc.

Not only does it look good, it's fast too. Here a snap from 3d2001SE showing my pc in 3rd place overall for a 7600GT. Mine is not overclocked or tampered with in any way:

Plus a screenshot showing how it renders UT-2004 https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=16103&LibID=13

It's not the ultimate of course, you pay three to four times as much for that, but it makes me smile. What more could you ask? :D  :CONGRAT:

That is awesome looking! Now you just need a sweet LCD to go with it

My wife will never let me get a nice computer like that. Oh, well.

CRT only here - you can't vary the resolution on LCDs, makes them kinda useless

I keep running across this...hmmm...maybe I'll go back from my
Samsung SynchMaster 910MP to an old KDS VS 17" I have
just to compare
[first saw this "brand new high-speed puppy" and a vision of a turbo-labrador crossed my mind. Had to check it out]

Huh. Shows you what I know. I didn't have a clue you couldn't change Rez with them.

Maybe I don't want one anymore!

Mine's set at 1280 X 1024. Native res. Don't ever change it, but then, don't have to either...

Nice rig, Fuzzy!

I just built my new one about 3 weeks ago.

I went with the Asus A8N-E (I don't game much, so the SLI didn't mean that much to me.)
AMD 4200+ X2, GB of RAM, Radeon X550 graphics card (again, not much of a gamer, so I saved a few bucks here.)
250GB SATA2 hard drive, all in a Raidmax Sagitta case.

No nice pictures to show. Spent all my $$ on PC parts instead of a camera.

Looks great, Fuzzy!

I bet games move really nice on that one.

I am going to the other side of the fence for my next rig in September (Intel-based 20" iMac - 2 Ghz. dual core) - test drove it at the local Apple store and loved the response and simplicity.

The current notebook (Dell modified to Intel 760 dothan core) will have to do for PC platform OS and apps - at least until the next Intel family processors hit full stride.
