Hi pmafia;

Could you also post the information below the (Plug and Play Monitor) from the WindowBlinds Configuration System Information screen that includes the file .dll and .exe and the corresponding dates. That will also help in the problem solving.

Thanks

Wbload.exe 2005/11/25 19:30:58

Hope you can help me! I think it might have something to do with explorer, i used styler before also, or possibly the uxtheme.dll

Those dates are not the latest version. If you purchased WindowBlinds then click on the following link, fill-in the info and download Stardock Central to get the latest version of WindowBlinds. https://www.stardock.com/sdnet_login.asp

I believe its not a WindowBlinds problem, I had the same problem with Maxathon Browser before, this is when I first noticed this. Moreover, I understand that you try to find out people that have pirated software, but this forum is not all resourceful if you think your software is perfect and whoever encounters problems is using a pirated version. If that is not case, it's certaintly the impression you've given me.

Going by the dates, it's looks like it's the trial version and certain aspects are no longer any good when it runs out. I could be wrong..... He didn't mention pirated software...you did.

if this information is correct, then you haven't purchased any Wincustomise software..

this forum has been incredibly helpful to many people...in order to help people, it is important that you are running the latest verson of the software...

if you don't believe this is a Windowblinds problem, then why are you posting on the Windowblinds forum?

I don't see where I accused you of using pirated software. You do have "old" version dates and this could be a cause of your problem. In order to get Stardock Central to update to the latest version you need to fill-in the information that you used to purchase the software. That information will be used by Stardock to send an email with the latest Stardock Central program link.

Only trying to help but if you wish someone else to assist you, be my guest.

he didn't say cracked - he said you have some old dates - if you have a purchased WB, you can stay updated via SDC (in the link Hankers provided)

These the current dates showing when I click WB configure:
Wblind.dll 2006/03/21
Wbsrv.dll 2006/02/05
Wbconfig.exe 2006/03/19
Wbload.exe 2006/03/13
Wbhelp.dll 2004/09/18
Wbui.dll 2005/12/06
Tray.dll 2005/11/02

as for the impression it's all perfect and if yours if broke, it's cracked:

try going through all the posts concerning issues with WB - look at the system info posted, the poster's info when their name is clicked on. Compare the system dates and the users that show up as current customers with the system dates of the people that show up as vistors or unknown and registered the same day they posted. then read through the posts and see which ones are running cracked versions. then rereada the posts and see how many users with legal version have had some issues. people here want to help. a lot of us don't want to help pirates.

if you had a shareware version and then paid for it, you may have gotten files mixed...sdc is the way to fix them

I am no fool; I do know how to read between the lines. Unfortunately, until you make a rather offensive gesture, nobody is willing to help you out. Also, I indeed have purchased the software, the software doesn’t cost a fortune, moreover, please don’t insult me by saying I did not purchase the software. You’re simply basing your facts on my old account that I use, which I tend to find quite ignorant actually. There are indeed some helpful people; I was just disgruntled by the immediate response of "DLL and EXE" dates. I have done my fair share of readings on this board, and typically by reading between the lines when somebody makes that gesture at you, your are basically being questioned indirectly "Are you using a pirated version? If so that is the reason" I am not here to start an argument, all I wanted was to solve my problem. Please don’t attempt to defame me either. I also posted in this forum because I paid for the software, so I would like my support using its products. I gather nobody is here to assist me, so please if you have nothing regarding the topic to say, don’t say it at all.

Looks like I have been forced to use this service now, which defeats the purpose of the forum. Very bad relations indeed.

since the forum is comprised of users and a first shot at getting a solution without having to go through support:

if the service you refer to is SDC...then the forum served it's purpose.

if you are referring to contacting support without using SDC to try and fix your problem, then your statement has no more bearing than a child saying they don't want to play anymore.

help was offered. if you choose to ignore it, it's on you.

Step one is to make use of your product registration and update its version to the latest one available...to determine whether THAT solves your issue.

I think that was around about the first suggestion you received...

You’re courageous for attempting to signify me erroneous; however, you only humiliated yourself. Please take ESL 100 before attempting to approve anybody’s English for a second time.

What, pray tell is 'ESL 100'?

Let's avoid calling people names.  I'm sure someone somewhere considers 'peasant' to be a slight...

Who cares? It's sort of fun watching somebody dig a hole, jump in, and start pulling the dirt in after themselves...
