Save Game dialog needs to be improved

Most games give you the ability to autosave, quicksave, AND name saved game files, giving you the ability to save a game and give it a descriptive name like "conquest game 1", etc. The current dialog only allows you to perform a "quicksave", which gets overwritten by the next quicksave, and the autosaves naturally overwrite the previous autosave. As it is, you have to manually create a folder and copy the saved game in order to save your progress for a particular game without it being overwritten. It would be much better if you could name saved games in the dialog, like Civ III and most other games allow you to do. That way, you can more easily manage your saved games, and jump between various games without having to exit to Windows.

Uhh, what are you talking about? You can name your saved games. Go into options, press the load/save-button, give it a name and press save. I'm quite perplexed how anyone could miss that.

I think he means Name a default save that CTRL-S saved to INSTEAD of QuickSave, for each game.

IE: If i load my game 1 and hit CTRL-S it plops it into QuickSave.
And if I load game 2 and by habit hit CTRL-S, well game 1's QuickSave gets overwritten by game 2's

Yeah I have done this a couple of times. Angers me immensly

Well you should give it a named save not a quicksave if the save is meaningful.
