Main Menu Problem

I took off full screen and restarted the program like it said so. When I went back to the main menu I was unable to click on any of the buttons. It worked perfectly fine before I changed it. I tried uninstalling it and that had no effect. I'm unable to go into options and change it.

You can manually change your preferences in the prefs.ini file. It is located in the mygames\galciv2\ folder. If you still can't fix it, can you post your debug.err file? Both can be opened with wordpad or notepad.

I had a similar thing happen to me when I accidently set the resolution to something higher then what my monitor could display in windowed mode. Took some work, but I found the text for the button, and where you actually have to click were not lined up. Eventually I manage to find where to click to drag the resolution slider back to what I needed. Good to go from then.

Well I tried to find the prefs.ini file but it doesn't seem to exist. Tried installing it onto my other computer and it still wasn't there. If I could just change the fullscreen I'm sure it would work. Anyways heres the debug file.

DCDN,

Your prefs.ini file is in My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2.  If you have changed the location of your my documents folder, the My Games\GalCiv2 folder will be a subfolder of that folder.

You can set the DisplayWidth, DisplayHeight, and Fullscreen values to fix your problem, or delete the prefs.ini to make the game generate a new one.
