Kids! You raise them, teach them, Nurture them

And they stab you in the back with a rubber knife!

Although this is political, it is not really political.  It is about a politician running in a primary, and it ended in a tie.  The kicker?  Two of his sons, eligible to vote, failed to!  Poor guy!  After this, I am sure he just does not have the heart to run again.  He had the primary in his back pocket!  And his sons failed to vote!

I feel for the guy.  Not enough to not laugh at it as I am a father.  But I do feel for him.

I guess this guy should start saving his money now, so he doesn't have to rely on his two sons to pick his retirement home. ;~D

This kind of reminds me of my uncle. He was running for a City Council seat. When he talked to a lot of his friends about getting their vote, a lot of them said, "well, I never vote in the primaries, but I'll make sure I vote for you at the election."

None of them got the chance since he lost his primary by only around 50 votes.

I would be worried as well!

So it goes.  Sorry for your Uncle.  I actually did work and vote in a primary here (it was a democrat one - but you are not required to register a party, so I just did).  It was for a friend, and while I did not agree with all his stands, he was a friend, and I trusted him.  Unfortunately, not enough did.  He lost. (I was even out at the polls on election day!).

Thank you for that case in point! Primaries are important! I missed voting in the primaries in 2000. I was just one minute too late because I stayed at work too late that evening. Although I doubt it would have made a difference, that was my one chance to vote for Alan Keyes. I will always stand by that opinion.

Back to your article (sorry, I am TangentWoman)...I hope those kids learned a lesson. Voting matters, especially when one has a solid reason to make their opinion count.

Dont know if they did, but tangents are fine!  I usually dont wote in primaries as I dont have an interest.  But as I said, everyonce in awhile, I do, and do!

I think that primaries can be more important than we give them credit for sometimes, I always vote in them (except for when I wasn't living in my state of residency, of course) . . .

It's gotta break this guy's heart that his own kids wouldn't get out and support him, though. That's what I can jerky kids.

I'd advise him to cut their pocket money

He'll need it when they pick his retirement home.

And write them out of the will!

No, keep them in there, just make sure the inheritance is all spent!
