Cultural Borders still shows on minimap

I tried starting a new game with no tech trading, no borders... and so on.. huge map, 5 players and so on.

When the game started it should be without the cultural areas on the minimap but its not... just my own is gone..

Please check to see if the "Ownership" icon to the upper-right of the mini map is highlighted. If it is not, you will not see your own cultural influence. If you click it to highlight it, you should see only your own influence area until you start to uncover the influence of other civs.

I have an issue with the Ownership not updating on the minimap. Actually, it appears as if they minimap doesn't update at all if it's zoomed in.

I think the mini map doesnt update properly. when you scout and uncover the fog of war it doesnt update in the mini map until u either finish the turn or minimize it or something. Also have you checked the blind exploration check box in the game setup options (when u set the size of the galaxy and research rate etc)? If i understand the problem right that should solve your issue (it must be on).

Hope that helps.

I just wanted to pile in here. It seems that when I zoom in one level on the mini-map, the spheres of influence of some of the neighboring races disappear. If I zoom in again and zoom back out, it becomes okay.

I seem to be able to (without wanting to) reproduce this over and over.

Let me pile on also. As mentioned minimap does not always show ownership. Zoom in and out and it fixes itself. Very annoying, though. This has been a bug since the first release. Any updates on this?
