Not sure if this would be considered a bug or just an annoying quirk...

When advancing to the next level of espionage on a race, am I the only one who receives the progress report twice? I get a notice that I've achieved the next level of espionage. I click 'NEXT', the turn progresses, and then I get the achievement notice again. I guess it's not a big deal, but I just hate being told the same thing twice.

Yeah, I get this. Originally I thought that espionage was reached at some derived value that increases over time (like, value of all planets/improvements, or population etc) and you get it on one turn, then next turn it's gone up a bit so you get it again until your spending is high enough to stay ahead of the increase. Now I'm not so sure.

It's part of an old, left over system and I think I read in one of the beta notes they're getting ready to remove the last parts of it.

In early beta, you could invest money in espionage and... uh, trying to remember other term, demorilization maybe? One was used for finding info on the race and the other was for reducing morale, causing havok within their systems. You could have different levels (advanced / medium / etc) in each, depending on how you invested in each ability.

Wish I could remember exactly how it worked but I just got done pulling a 14 hour work shift

destabilization

Yeah, destabilisation was completely removed in 1.1, to be replaced by advanced espionage options in the expansion.
