i'm finishing up a game where several AI players built hyperion shrinkers and logistics systems. the game's down to me (Yor) and the Drengin. during the various surrenders and cultural conversions that have led up to this paradigm, i aquired new planets resulting in my possession of two extra logistics systems and three extra shrinkers (not to mention about 3 additional omega defense systems, an extra hyperion fleet defense completed after i converted the planet, and more capitals that i cared to count). sure enough, the affects stack.
i didn't report this as a bug because i don't consider it a bug. maybe it's not intentional, in which case we (SD and us players) should evaluate keeping or changing it on a strategic level, but it's not faulty programming.
that said, this adds a very interesting level of strategy to my world, spoils of war and whatnot. i mean, my miniturazation and logistics bonuses were all ready high seeing as i was playing the Yor.i'm at the end of the tech tree procrastinating researching the last weapon techs (the components are so expensive i don't even use them unless i really really need them usually). I have a logistics rating of 57 and a miniaturization bonus of +170%. it's fun, but i'm done with the tangent now.
to the bug report. in my ship design screen i've noticed that the components on large and huge ships now use less space once they're on the ship than the display indicates. don't get me wrong, i'm happy to have even more stuff on my ships. but that does seem a bit buggy, especially considering that when i get down to the last few hull points, fitting components onto the ship is based on the displayed value rather than what the component takes on the ship. so if this works right, there will be an image. the ultimate shield says it uses 7 poiints, but when i place it on the ship only 5 are used. if i were to fill up the ship and have only 5 points of space left, i wouldn't be able to add another 7-but-really-5-point shield.

(btw, even thought it's not the best angle, i'm pretty proud of this ship design. i haven't posted any images of my designs yet).
when i first noticed this, it only happened with huge hulls. after aquiring another shrinker, it's also happening with large hulls. i think i may have even read something about this before, a while ago. i'm playing the most current beta. dunno if you need the debug log on this, but it's below.
maybe i'll post another image of the completed ship with ultimate weapons in that forum later on.
