Minor Logitech G7 Issue

This is a pretty minor annoyance, but I'm hoping maybe I'm just missing some simple fix I can make in the game settings or something... I picked up a Logitech G7 mouse recently and noticed a problem when I'm dragging my way around in the main starmap. While it's perfectly functional, the dragging motion is really choppy compared with my old wireless mouse. Now, I can easily just switch back to my old mouse for this game, but this is rather annoying since the G7 was pretty expensive 
I've tried updating the mouse drivers, and I've been through a few different video drivers as well, but nothing's really had an effect.
