game crashes - d3d9.dll

I have catalyst 6.3 drivers on a radeon 9600, directx & microsoft.net all updated

game usually runs fine, but many times after it crashes, game will become unplayable, crashing and yielding an error in either galciv2.exe or d3d9.dll. when game crashes, its usually when ending turn

solutions tried in annoyance order until game works again: restart computer, uninstall/reinstall game, uninstall/reinstall video drivers, combination.

has always worked, but a pain to keep reinstalling every time the game crashes

Next time the game crashes, could you post your debug.err file here so we can see what error it reports right before the crash? Also, if you're feeling exceptionally generous with your time theres a free program in StardockCentral called "Smart Exception" that you can install and run while the game is running. Then, when it crashes, it'll generate a report that we can use to find the exact location of the crash.

Sorry that you've been getting so many issues...hopefully we can get his straightened out

Thanks Alawon, we'll look into it and see what could be the problem.

I couldn't find much, so I passed this onto some of our more skilled coders In the meentime, I suggest dropping the games resolution, and making sure that the frame-rate is being throttled (check this in the Video OPtions menu, when the game is running).

Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but rest assured that it has been put in the hands of someone more qualified

Yolkfolk, would you please post a debug.err file. A windows error isn't helpful.
