AI Tech Trading?

Hey I was curious, does the AI tech trade with other AIs?

)
.
And yes no tech trading means that you don't have the option to try to bribe them. But I've found that the best bribe you can use is a well tuned Phasor.

Has anyone tried the no tech trade option with the Beta? How does it effect game play?
A side effect of no-tesch-trade is also the tech AIs had is hidden. You can't see what they have. The only thing to get a clue is regular checking what they're researching, or looking at planets/ships, if you have high enough espionage level.
It tends to lead to a more balanced tech race in terms of leveling the playing field for everyone rather then having a wide gap between haves and have nots.
I had. Game goes quite slower, because there's less money from slower growing pop, and NO money from tech trade. I'd say at the current AI's state it can't cope well with that option, as it gets quite some holes in their "knowledge base". From my current game I see Thalans don't have a single trade line, and it is turn 165. But they had the best econ, no wars and were in lead for most of the game.
