Yaaaaarrr!!!

I wish I could save the battle replays to a movie file. I just had the most AWESOME battle with a pirate fleet.

Pirate Fleet: 8 fighters with Laser MK IV x 4 and superior deflectors x 2 + 7 Heavy fighters with....Phasors? I forget, but it was nasty. Plus heavy shielding and point defense.

Me: 1 light fighter. Disruptor III x 4 + Zero Point Armor + Ultimate Invulnerability Shield

Result: Total shock and awe - shock for them, awe for me.

I knew there were pirates nearby, because a fighter killed one of my mining bases. I sent a fast scout with huge sensor range to see where it was and found it. So I sent a fleet of fighters and heavy fighters to the area (11 altogether).

While the fleet was on the way, I decided to do some more scouting. And Surprise, the pirates had set up an ambush for me. 16 parsecs behind the fighter, there was a huge fleet of pirate fighters and heavy fighters. Their movement speed was 16 parsecs, so obviously the single fighter was bait. I kill the fighter, they kill me.

Two can play at that game.

I launched another fighter and waited until they were all in the area. My movement speed is 7ps/turn, so I moved the fighter 6ps in front of my fleet, then sent both of them forward. I killed the fighter. The pirate fleet moves in and jumps my fighter. 15 very heavily armed fighters all pounding away at my little fighter. I figured I was just throwing it away to set the ambush.

Nope.

Let me just say, I designed a MEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNN little fighter.

I call it the X-Wing Ultra. Tiny hull, shaped like a Star Wars X-Wing fighter. Disruptor III at each wing tip, Hyperwarp MK III engine, Zero Point Armor and Ultimate Invulnerability shield.

That one fighter smashed the *entire* fleet. Without so much as a scratch. I had to replay it four times before I would believe it.
