I just installed the trial copy of WB5.01. When I apply a skin my computer freezes in the "Please Wait" mode... and all i can access is the Task Manager to restart. This happens occasionally on the first "apply skin" but it always does when I apply skins the second or third time. Also when it does apply the taskbar's background (I have translucent taskbar) starts black after my pc's start-up, im gonna have to refresh the desktop to make it translucent again. Weird aint it? unless the trial copy from Downloads.com is cracked... Sorry just a thought.

post your system details and the system information from the WB config dialog and I'm sure someone will be able to try and help you out. Have you tried bringing your process list up before you try to apply a skin so you can watch what process is eating up your CPU?

Per-pixel skins included with the trial will work, but others will not.

Test first that it is not a third-party skin that is causing the issue.....try one of the included ones....

yeah. In task manager i noticed screen.exe is eating up the memory... Actually when i end that process the "please wait" dialog disappears. Although the PC is still at Frozen state. The error happens on any skin i download except the ones preinstalled in WB trial. The taskbar prob is no big deal since its just a refresh away but the reboot is just troublesome. Hope this bug isnt in Full version...

It's not a bug.  It's a trial version limitation.

The Full/purchased version will work with all Per-pixel skins, included and otherwise...

clicking on the desktop 5-10 seconds after it starts loading forces screen.exe to close and the skin will load.
