32Mb Graphic Card enough?

Ok, simple question -_-

I'm convinced, I want it, I need it, but... will my old laptop run it?

I have a 1.6GHz with 512Mb and Radeon 9000 (32Mb) graphics.

I don't care for rather EGA-like graphics if it just runs

I'm playing on an old laptop with the following specs.

CPU: Pentium 4 M – 2.2 Ghz
Memory: 512 RAM
Graphics card: ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 (32mb)
LCD native resolution: 1400x1050

It runs ok, not great but definitely playable in my opinion.

To answer your question Kord. Yes, it will play it as long as you update the driver for the graphics card and play it while your plugged in. It might be able to run on battery life but it will suffer. Try lowering your graphics settings as well.

the biggest problem with lack of graphics memory is going to be when there are more textures that need to be displayed than there is graphics memory. the game will chug as it tries to swap textures in and out of memory to 'draw' the scene. it will have to do so every single frame. I realize you cant upgrade a laptop, but if it's agp, at Least try to increase the agp aperature to 64 or 128mb. it wont make a huge difference, but that little bit of memory sealed off for your graphics will give you the best boost if your main memory runs empty. swapping textures from the hard drive will give you a severe case of stuttering.

umm, it should run, i got unichrome chipset with 32 mb, with no ram itself so it takes ram for itself from the ramcard what is 256 mb but now 223.9, but still game does not work perfectly, but not major bugs that you could not play.

Agp Aperature won't really do much if anything. Only way is to upgrade to more memory. But that all depends on how much and what type of memory you have in your laptop. I recommend taking it into a service center and let them look at it. That's if you don't wanna do it yourself.

Actually, AGP Aperture can make or break your system, if you don't have it tuned correctly:

My recommendation would be to set your AAS to 128MB, and throw on the latest Omega drivers. And maybe throw in another 512MB of memory.

Bought it, downloaded it, installed it, runs perfectly with full options at start of empire (some minor audio hickups though).

I guess I have plenty of options to turn off once it starts to be slow for heavy battles... If it does.

Thanks a lot all of you for your answers
