a few questions

before is start, well done to stardock, looks like a great game so far. I just got the game today as i live in Australia, and a few questions arised while playing it for the first time.
1. how does one increase the quality of the graphics, in the screenshots the ships (on the main map) look very crisp and detailed. for some reason mine look quite bland, and not very detailed. by the way my video card is an nvidia Geforce 4 mx 440 AGP 8x
2. when i explored the ship designer, i noticed the life support systems that you can attach to your ship.no problem so far. but i was just wondering what the map does to indicate the boundaries in which the function of the life support system will allow you to travel. is it a line, dot?
3. while listening to the tutorials, the voice seems to studder every 2 seconds. does anybody know why? has it happened to anyone else?

I can help you with 2 and 3.

2. The limit is presented as grey line when you select the ship you want to move. You will see it on the mini map fairly obviously and if you scroll the main view around you will see the boudary line on screen.
As a side note, starbases and planets expand the range your ships can operate in. I have never put life support on a ship I designed. I research it for the range bonus (nice touch!) but not the equipment.
3. It doesnt stutter for me so I suggest you check for latest drivers for your hardware.

Enjoy!

As a note for the second question: You need to turn on the 'show range' option for the minimap to see the light grey line for range. Its one of the icons to the right of the minimap.

I too had badly stuttering sound on the tutorial... I stopped listening after about 30 seconds into the first one and just decided to do the classing 'learn by doing' way I almost always end up doing for 4x games... which prolly explains why I'm so bad at them

The tutorial stutteres for me as well even with the latest drivers. However if I expand the tutorial window to full screen it's fine.

thankyou all very much,
how do you expand the tutorial window to full screen? or are you just playing in windowed mode?
