Help with Portable

I really want to play more!

Hey Guys,

This is Nick, I have a bit of an interesting situation. I was just home for spring break and my brother bought this game, and after a 4 AM romp on a small map I am itching to play more.

Now after I left I put the game onto my portable in hopes that I could get it to run here at my University (break is over) but I simply cannot get the game to even start up. I am pretty sure it is the drivers, since I get the cursor and nothing else when I try to boot the game up.

I am running a Dell Inspiron 8500 with a Nvidia Geforce4 4200 Go. The real problem is that while I need updated drivers, and the Dell websites most up to date stuff is for 2004. The nvidia site says I should go to Dell for updated drivers.

This is kinda killing me, and I would really love to find a way to get the game running: any suggestions?

Cheers,

NM

Dell is responsible for configuring and distributing the graphics drivers of its laptops, but it looks Dell dropped the ball for your model.

If you're not afraid to take a bit of a risk, you could try the Omega Drivers. Link
I'm using the ATI Omega drivers for my Radeon 7500 Mobility and the game works.

I don't have any suggestions other than what Nicolas already mentioned. I also use the Omega drivers for my laptop (exact same card as Nicolas), and they run the game without any problems. Omega's work on Nvidia drivers has halted recently, but his most recent ones will still me a LOT better than 2 year old ones from Dell.

Excellent! Thanks for the quick replies!

I have been bothered by the lack of drivers for some time, so I will definitely give these omega drivers a chance. With a name like that how could I resist?
