can anyone help

hello there.

i have a problem with this game. when you start a new game, alot of the time it doesn't allow me to set the number of my opponents or their intelligence level. sometimes it does, but lately, more often than not it doesn't.

is there anything i can do?

i am not a computer expert, so if i need to provide any extra info please ask and i will do my best to do so.

Are you shure you aren't playing the campaign? Those settings are pre-set there, all you can choose is the overall difficulty.

Also, most of the scenario games are also limited in what races are available/included. So if you want full freedom in choosing opponents and their settings, you need to do a fully random 'Normal Game'.

it is pretty strange. the only scenario's i have played so far is normal, accelerated start, classic galaxy and battle of the gods. i`ve not tried the others yet. other than 'normal', would the others be restricted then?

Most of the scenarios have pre-set races, and many of them limit you to only playing as humans as well. So if you want full control over the game setup you need to play the Normal [non]scenario game.
