The Limp
SuspecTed

That's why God made one of these,
legs longer than the other,

To make sure I can only walk in circles.

This world is made of squares,

So I'm forced to limp.

In order,
to make it 'round these corners.

I couldn't decid if I should shorten,
one or lengthen the other,

Which one was mocking me?

I put away the saw,
I curbed the problem.

Rather, the curb was the solution,

my feet, now home,

to the sidewalk and gutter simultaneously.

The only time I trip is when I come to the crosswalks.
Which, is every block.

So I wish the curb and street were level,
so I could just walk around in circles,

in this world made of squares.

Yes! This one is awesome! Humorous and poignant at the same time.

I do like the subject matter....it need a clean shave almost as much as I do. It may have been influenced by the Roald Dahl and Shel Silverstein I've been reading to the kids.

I really like this, the idea of it, and it generally works well. You might consider dropping the last line...I
think it would sound good just ending with, "walking in circles." Good work!
