Questions about downloading

Hi there, i just found out about this game recently and it sounded pretty awesome so i was hoping to download it. I was just hoping to ask a couple of questions before i spend $45 on it.

Does downloading the game give you access to the collectors edition downloadable content?

I regularly delete games off my pc dues to a lack of space, assuming i can log into my stardock account is it possible to redownload at any time or after any period of time after my first download, or would it even be possible to burn the game onto a dvd?

I noticed in the "getting the game downloaded thread" that a lot of people were having problems downloading the game are these problems a regular thing or just 1 in 100 type occurences?

Seeing as the currency to buy it is dollars, would i be able to play a downloaded version of the game here in the uk?

And lastly after buying the download version, how difficult is it to actually download and install it?

and slightly off topic, would someone explain to me exactly how the metaverse thing works?
Any help wouold be appreciated, hope to be playing soon ^^

"Does downloading the game give you access to the collectors edition download-able content?"---- Yes, it's included in the download. The download also has the current patch included as well. For a few bucks extra for shipping, you can order the CD from Stardock. They will ship you the cool collectors box which includes a fold-out tech tree and a printed manual. (PDF included in download). You will also get a temporary serial number so you can still download and play while you are waiting for your CD to arrive.

I purchased the originally purchased GalCiv in 2003. I haven't had it installed for some time, and in anticipation of the launch of GalCiv II, I used Stardocks automated system to retrieve both a current download link and my serial number. That was pretty cool. You can archive the download to a disk if you wish, or purchase the CD as I mentioned above.

The Metaverse is basically a big scoreboard that you track your # of games played, score and so on. You can create or join empires if you wish, which basically pools points to compete against other empires. I understand some empires have even set up forums, websites and so on.
