Military Power

Military

Just had a question on Military Power - I have a rating at like 88 or something and the Arcean Empire is like at 150. I wanted to know how the game judges power. I could crush the Arcean's due to my luck factor of getting two Ranger Class Ships, plus I have a large fleet 10-12 Custom Light Cruisers 3 Attack 4 Defense. The Best the Arcean's have are like 10 Heavy Fighters and 15 regular fighters. So we do they double me up? Does the computer just take into account amount of military ships? I could just send in the Rangers and wipe their fleets out... Does it also ever look at starbase updates to military as well as tech updates as I have doubled the Arcean's in military tech. Just wondering

Not sure the answer to your question, but I agree something is off with the calculation, and it's a problem because the AI treats based in large part based on your military strength. My First game I put off building military ships until I had what I considered worthy tech to put in them. The AI went at me like white on rice.

My Second game , I went the opossite route, and put 1 attack 0 defense small ships in all my worlds ASAP even though they sucked spaceballs. Not only has any AI yet to declare any kind of war on me, but I actually have them giving me money out of the blue for free, as tribute. This despite the fact that my entire fleet could be wiped out by a strong wind.

This kind of ruins the flow of the game for me, because it railroads you into the same game everytime, as opposed to the no two games are alike push from marketing.

Yeah - This is a problem, I saw another post on it. too. The Arceans declared war on my which was laughable at best even though they doubled my military might. I'm sorry but the game should understand that if you have 2 Ranger Class ships that are 26 Attack and 34? defense you aren't going to win with fighters even though it says your #1. So their whimpy fighter fleets got smoked by my two Ranger Fleets each having two cruisers for backup. What makes it worse though is that after I took over 3 of their planets they still thought they were tough. I got bored fighting them (want to concentrate on tech, trading) that I actually had to give them money to accept peace...
That brings up another point i'm overall #1 but the stupid quarterly report always has to show Power and I am like 4th on that (yeah whatever) Gets those loser Torians all happy and thinking there stuff don't stink. Guess I'll have to blow up their parliment building.

This is a BIG problem in the game, IMO. Check out the other thread and read more about it.

Why on earth SD is silent on this I can't figure out, becuase it's screwing up the dynamics of the political game badly. And then shafts the Ai into losing wars it doesn't need to lose.
