any confirmation on Beta4 date

With all the talk about the possibility that the Beta 4 build will be delayed I suspect the Stardock people will have little if any time to look at the forum until they have it up and ready. Just to give you an idea of what it may be like there, have you ever seen a yard of chickens all running around with their heads cut off? It may look hilarious, but it isn't pretty.

deadlines, yup know all about those - does no harm sitting there though does it? one of them may sit and browse to stop their heads spinnin'

With how few of them there are, I think they all work until they drop, and looking at the forum when they drop would not be a good way to try unwinding. LOL

Cant they still release B4 today and patches during the week? Beta 3 is so buggy. AI ships can't fight each other.

Yea, we ALMOST had something for today, but we just can't quite get the fleets to behave the way we want.

We have made a lot of progress though. Not only is the game speed way up but the time between turns is way down.

And if you have a dual CPU configuration or one of the new P4's with hyperthreading, the game will be even better since so much code has been put into the background threads.

Something's up there now.

Yea, changed our minds. We forgot just how unplayable the previous beta was so we put up what we have. It's not as solid as we'd like but it's better.

Whatever it was, after upgrading, galciv wouldn't load. However, after reloading the game manager there was another upgrade!

If they are loading it right now I may be getting partials, so I'll wait around a little and see what happens...

Great I was looking for a reason to buy one of the new 3Ghz Dells.
