Food Production Plus
Too much food?

In my short experience with the game so far I have found no good use for the +food production tiles on my planets. Usually just one farm is plenty. If I put more than my pop grows up to be too large (20 million +) and my people become severely unhappy with the overcrowding on the planet.
Therefore, I usually only build one farm per planet. If the planet has a +food production tile I actually ignore it because all it will do is cause my pop to grow larger than I can handle, even with multiple entertainment networks.
Eventually as I move down the tech tree I can research better forms of entertainment but I am usually busy researching other stuff.
Is there a reason I would want my pop on a planet to be huge dispite the negatives? Is there some way to make my overcrowded planets happy that I'm not aware of?
