Consistent crashing under 64-bit XP

The game consistently crashes under 64-bit XP.

This is at multiple resolutions, and does not occur at any particular screen in the game.

Also, this is a complete system crash, not just a game crash.

I run many other 3D accelerated games with no problems (Doom 3, Vanguard Beta, Homeworld (1, 2, Cataclysm), Serious Sam)

You must have a resolution of 1024x768 and a colordepth of 32bpp. IF that doesn't do anything, make sure you have the latest drivers for your CPU and/or motherboard. If you checked recently, check again.

What hardware? Which drivers? Anything? Give the devs a chance to help you!

I've read of at least one Win64 user working fine here, so it can't be a general inability to play under Win64.

Given how much we use 64-bit XP here (all the artwork for instance) I can assure you it runs fine on Windows XP 64. We'd need toknow a little bit more info about your setup.

Was just putting it out there as a data point.

Here are my specs:

Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe mainboard
Dual nVidia 7800 GTX GPUs (not in SLI)
AMD 4800+ X2 CPU
4GB of RAM
2 x 80GB SATA Drives Striped (GalCiv 2 lives on this Stripe)
2 x 300GB SATA Drives Mirrored
Creative Labs X-Fi Fatal1ty Sound Board

I have noticed that when the game brings down the rig, the sound goes wacky

This is a recent installation of XP, so all my drivers are current, and the OS is updated to its most current as well.

Also noticed that when the machine dies, what was last playing in audio continues to play, but interspersed with gaps of quiet. It will do this indefinitely until I hard reboot.
