Race Bug

After changing the ability of the yor (for example) the game saves these changes in My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2 in a file called The CurrentCustomRace5.raceconfig.

The problem is you never can reset these settings to the original yor settings and the special +100 loyality bonus are lost forever. (>reset< or >clear< button doesn't help)

Deleting these raceconfig files helps but a normal user doesn't find it.

See my posting in the GalCiv II Board:

Ah thanks.

I just found this bug report after posting this

Link

in another thread, I found by searching the forums. I'll dare asking the question I asked there, here also in the hope I might get a quicker answer:

How do you guys get to play with the vanilla races, at all??? I can't seem to get to even play with ANY vanilla race - selecting Next on the Customize screen always gets me the abilities preselected on the Abilities tab for the race; which is NOT the abilities for the classic race (doesn't include, e.g., the hefty Yor loyalty bonus) (For a slightly longer description - see the link above).

The only workaround I can think of is editing a CurrentCustomRaceX.raceconfig file by hand to match the correct abilities - which is NOT what I guess you people are doing...

Hope to get answer and/or a bug-patch to a slightly bugged, but really cool game

For anybody reading this, who've been having the same trouble as calmon and I, check

- for an easy fix thanx to CorbieKitaal - (it seems you people actually do hand-edit the customrace-files! Hmm, somehow I don't think the casual gamer will be in to that...)

By golly, I still don't see the reason to enabling the Abilities tab when selecting one the classic race, at all?!
