You have well and truly got the 100K cracked.
Enjoy your party.

FC, good to see ya. Great scores. Be safe and enjoy the party. Do a flamingo for me

Great party. Time to get back to the States though.

FC Hope you got some sightseeing in.

Lisbon was home to some famous sailors. There is some interesting stuff in the museums, especially about their navigation methods.

I guess that last thing on a sailor's mind on R&R is museums.

or playing other games   Nah, we wouldn't do that, even if Stardock tempts us with interesting tidbitds now and then.

Hello, Galactic Diplomats! I have abandoned the Overmind to join your noble ranks. I bring my #43 ranking and 149090 Metaverse score which should bring us nearly within 400,000 of the B.C. Space Orcas. The race is back on!!!

p.s., I recently reposted my 2nd game rising my score from 99500 to 155500! I extended the game a year to more than double my population, plus complete the tech tree, all building on my planets, and a over one thousand dreadnoughts! Proving a well developed empire scores more points than a quick victory.

Welcome Mascrinthus.
You will be a valuable reinforcement in our battle with the baby seal killers.

That was an interesting insight into the effect of one extra year on the score.

Indeed, welcome Mascrinthus. Be sure to drop by the Core for gossip, strategy and of course, the secret handshake.

over one thousand dreadnoughts

Now where have I heard this before? Hmm.

Thanks for the welcome!

Good morning all, and welcome Mascrinthus. Great game youp posted. Keep it up and remeber to play for fun.

I think I would have more fun playing a medium map game (takes much less time to complete and less much less memory). I started a new gigantic map game, still v1.2 but this time Suicidal, with everything abundant but this time scattered rather than tight clusters since Mumblefratz said that will result in ~500 rather than ~300 planets! This places a serious strain on my system with only 512MB of memory even with most services stopped (I run just the services required to play the game, networking is disabled [only required to start a new MV game and post your game]). All I want for Christmas is Dark Avatar and more memory!

Guys and girls........

With DA due out to us tomorrow in Beta format i would like to take this opportunity to remind all empire members who plan on using the Beta to firstly archive their existing build first.

If you cast your minds back to the betas for GCII you will remember that certain versions were terrible and crashed the game as soon as you clicked the turn button. I am not saying the first beta for DA will do this but it never hurts to be safe and have a good working copy of GCII 1.4x put to one side as a backup should the beta be flawed.

I guess most of you know how to archive the game but for those of you who don't all you need do is open Stardock Central and go to the games section. L.click on GCII and then R.click it, move down to Archive Application and chose Selected Application. This will give you a copy in case you need to remove the DA beta.

Happy gaming

What is this archiving ?
Something unique to Stardock ?

Can you do it with any program ?
Just tried it. The answer is no.
