Transparent strip along bottom

Hi. I have WindowBlind 4.0, and am finding with some of the newer skins that I am getting a transparent strip along the bottom of my page. It shows a strip of my wallpaper underneath, and will show the writing of waiting for a new page to download, then just keeps filling up with writing over that same strip. This is in IE, XP home. Is this because of the upgraded version, and I need to buy it? Thank you pj.

Some of the newer skins are not compatible with WB4.x because of the per-pixel alpha transparency features. Some new skins support both WB4 & WB5 by providing both non-per-pixel graphics & per-pixel graphics, though, so it should be a skin-specific problem.

Whether you should purchase the new version depends on whether your video hardware will support per-pixel alpha blending, which is the feature WB5 exploits.

I should clarify that you don't have to have a rig that supports per-pixel alpha in order for WB5 to work - you just don't get the per-pixel-alpha-based transparency. I have WB5 on such a rig and it works great.

Thanks for your quick reply. I guess it is just a matter of using the skins that work with 4.0 then until I decide to upgrade. Thanks again.

Registered customers of 4.0 should be able to upgrade to 4.6 for free.  Upgrading to 5.0 would be an extra cost ($15 I believe)

Well, I got the upgrade Neil suggested. Thank you very much, not only was there an update that I didn't know existed, it solved my problem of the transparent bar at the bottom!
