I just got done finishing the daily challenge today, and when watching the replay I noticed that the button for me to buyout my rivals sometimes didn't appear at all, and at others appeared at what seemed to be the wrong time/wrong funds accumulated.
I may be unfamiliar with the mechanic, and if I am it would be nice for someone to shine some light on it for me. I know once a rival owns 5K shares you have to purchase the last 5K at once to buy them out.
First, Silas Crichton was at a price of $27.75 per share, and I had ~350K, but the buyout button didn't appear. Upon pausing and 'SHIFT+Click'ing to Silas' perspective, I was listed at 100% potential to buyout his stock. Silas also didn't own all 10K shares - only about 5K or 6K, so why would I have to accumulate enough for 10K shares before being listed as 100%?
Secondly - a similar situation - Frank Dawson was listed at $34.27 per share, and I had $388K. The buyout button didn't appear and again when I paused and changed to Frank's perspective it showed I had 100% of the necessary funds. The buyout button did appear later when I had ~450K, and various other players owned some stock, but Frank didn't have more than 5K or 6K shares I'm sure. Would I/is it that I have to buy out other player's stock in Frank at *their* stock price in order to take over Frank? Also, it seems as though I am having to pay for 10K shares when I should only have to buy 5K or 6K at once.
Lastly, I was in a race with the final player standing (I had bought out everyone else as subsidiaries), Ilana Kamat. She had 5K of her shares, and I had 5K of her shares. Her stock price was ~$86.00 per share. The buyout button didn't appear until I had reached 877K. This seems particularly strange, as it almost feels like I was paying for the 5K shares she owned, but also again for the 5K shares I already owned and had previously paid for.
Also of note: I was playing on an older computer today, and the framerate and UI interactions were chugging along somewhat, so I don't know whether that would have affected the above situation.
